Health Certificates

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is one of three Federal agencies that you will encounter as you travel with your pet.  When travelling with your pet(s), there may be animal health requirements specific for that destination. As soon as you know your travel details, contact your local veterinarian to assist with the pet travel process. Factors to consider may include meeting time frames for obtaining a health certificate, updating vaccinations, diagnostic testing, or administration of medications/ treatments. Please visit the APHIS website to see what is required of you in order to travel with your pet(s).

Domestic Health Certificates

This process is quick, simple and can be done in office during your next appointment. Please make sure to provide our staff with your current address and phone number  as well as the destination address you’ll be traveling to, that way we can swiftly fill out the proper forms!

International health certificates

This process is extensive and requires a lot of information from the client as well as the veterinarian. Please make sure to have all of the proper information needed to fill out the paperwork during your appointment including; current address and telephone number, flight information, destination country and address, date of departure, and whether the pet will be traveling alone, as cargo, or with a person in the cabin of the plane.

You’ll also need to visit the APHIS website prior to your appointment, to find out what is needed for your pet(s) to be able to safely travel internationally. Once the proper paperwork is filled out by our office, it is then submitted to the USDA for approval and requires a stamp of endorsement by a Veterinary Services area office in order to be valid. Please consider any and all factors prior to traveling and once you have all the necessary information and are ready to travel, contact our office at (518) 828-1622, to set up an appointment for your pet(s).
